
Hamilton Theatrical Release Trailer Sets Release Date for Lin-Manuel Miranda Musical
Alexander Hamilton is officially headed to the theaters, with Disney announcing that Lin-Manuel Miranda’s legendary musical will get a theatrical release.
When does the Hamilton theatrical release come out?
Thanks to a new trailer from Disney, we know that Hamilton‘s theatrical release is set to premiere on September 5, 2025. Alongside the special screening celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Broadway production, a special cast reunion featuring all-new interviews with members of the original cast will also show in theaters.

While Hamilton is already to watch on Disney+, the theatrical release will include a special “Reuniting the Revolution” prologue, which sees members of the original cast and creators come together and reflect on the play that become one of Broadway’s greatest and most praised productions.
“When we filmed Hamilton, we wanted to try to capture the feeling of being in the Richard Rodgers Theatre during that first year on Broadway,” says director/producer Thomas Kail, “and we’re thrilled that audiences will now have the opportunity to experience it on the big screen.”

For those in New York City, a special premiere screening will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Delacorte Theater. A limited number of advanced tickets will be available for a donation beginning on August 11, with a free ticket lottery distribution also available at The Public Theater on September 3, 2025.
Originally premiering in 2015, Hamilton was a smash hit since its inception. The production earned a record 16 nominations at the 70th Tony Awards, winning 11 awards in total, including Best Musical. The production also won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The production was created with music, lyrics, and a book by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
