Fantastic Four MCU Villain Was Originally a Robot

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is out in theaters now, and a new art book releasing later this year highlights some of the concept art for one of the film’s villains.

What villain was originally a robot in The Fantastic Four: First Steps?

In November, Marvel Studios is set to release an “Art of” book for the movie. Alongside sketches and designs for how the characters in the film looked, it also shows off some never-before-seen artwork for the movie, including a different look at Giganto, Mole Man’s giant monster that briefly appears in the movie.

While the actual Giganto that appeared in the movie looked much more like his comic book counterpart, it didn’t always. The concept art shows a Giganto donning full robotic armor, as the Fantastic Four fight him off. Check out the concept art below:

The cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps is led by Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. The film also includes Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer. Additionally, Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne have been cast in undisclosed roles.
