Spider-Man: Brand New Day Set Photos Reveal MCU Easter Eggs
New photos taken from the set of Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, tease some MCU Easter eggs.
Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently in production. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie will see Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man once again, while Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also returning as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson and Ned Leeds.
What do we see in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day set photos?
Shared on Twitter by @Arach_07, one Spider-Man 4 set photo appears to nod to The Fantastic Four: First Steps and, more specifically, Reed and Sue’s son, Franklin Richards. The tweet reads, “Interesting choice, they retained Glasgow’s Franklin St sign, despite the map overlapping with Manhattan, New York. Out of all streets… Franklin?”
Another set photo is of a tow truck from a company called “Logan’s,” a reference to the X-Men Wolverine character who has been played by Hugh Jackman up until this point.
This isn’t confirmation that Wolverine, Franklin, or any other X-Men or Fantastic Four characters will show up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day; rather, these just appear to be fun Easter eggs for Marvel fans.
It is known, however, that Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk will appear in the movie, as will Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/Punisher. Additionally, Michael Mando is finally reprising his role as Mac Gargan/Scorpion after originally appearing in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, while Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink and The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas have both been cast in undisclosed roles.
Plot details for Spider-Man 4 remain under wraps at this time. The movie currently has a July 31, 2026, release date. After that, Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026, while the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, comes out on December 17, 2027. Another MCU movie will be released between those two, though it is not yet known what it will be.
