Spider-Man 4 Set Video Possibly Confirms a Brand New Day Villain (& It’s Not Scorpion)
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has entered a key stage of production as filming kicks off in Glasgow, with early signs hinting at a major new villain. Crews positioned armored vehicles marked with a red devil logo on set, sparking speculation about the film’s main antagonist. With Tom Holland returning and new characters joining the MCU, early clues are already generating major buzz.
Mister Negative may have been confirmed as Spider-Man: Brand New Day villain
Crews positioned multiple armored military-style vehicles on set during filming in Glasgow, each marked with a red devil logo. The symbol closely resembles the emblem used by the Inner Demons, a fictional criminal gang led by the villain Mister Negative in Marvel Comics and Insomniac’s Spider-Man video games.
Social media users @Adama4692 and @Arach_07 shared images and footage from the set. The clips show crews moving armored vehicles into position for a scene in the upcoming film. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have not confirmed Mister Negative’s involvement. However, fans noticed the logo’s resemblance to the Inner Demons’ insignia and see it as a strong hint. As of August 2025, no actor is attached to play Mister Negative.
Mister Negative, also known as Martin Li, first appeared in 2007. Writers often depict him as a Chinatown crime boss who channels the Darkforce, controls minds, and manipulates energy. In the Spider-Man PS4 game, he acts as a central antagonist and releases the Devil’s Breath bioweapon on New York City. His Inner Demons wear masks, use negative energy-infused weapons, and travel in armored vehicles marked with their emblem.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes place after Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Peter Parker living in a world where no one remembers his identity. Destin Daniel Cretton directs the film. The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.
Sony and Marvel will release the movie in theaters on July 31, 2026. Filming began in early August 2025, and the story reportedly takes place before Avengers: Doomsday.
