Spider-Man 4 Filming Update Teases Huge Action Scene

Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has received an exciting production update.

Following the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the next MCU movie will be Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The movie, which is scheduled to arrive in July 2026, is beginning production this week and will see Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker.

What is the Spider-Man 4 update?

According to the Glasgow Times, per Cosmic Marvel on Twitter, nearly 60 roads will be closed in the city for the filming of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

“60 roads closed? This has to be like the biggest action scene EVER,” scooper Daniel Richtman noted.

Because of the scope of the production and the fact that it’s filming outside, this means that Holland’s new Spider-Man suit will likely emerge online in the very near future. Richtman is saying that the first look will come tomorrow, Friday, August 1, 2025.

Plot details for Spider-Man 4 remain under wraps at this time. The movie is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which was released in 2021.

It is known that Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle/Punisher in the movie, while Zendaya and Jacob Batalon return as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson and Ned Leeds. Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink and The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas will also appear, though it’s unclear who they have been cast as at this time.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in United States theaters on July 31, 2026, from Marvel Studios and Sony. After that comes Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026, while the sequel to that film, Avengers: Secret Wars, arrives on December 17, 2027. There is also an untitled MCU movie that is dated between those two films and arrives in July 2027.
