Harrison Ford Addresses If He’s Returning to Marvel After Red Hulk Role

Captain America fans probably shouldn’t expect Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk to return to the MCU anytime soon.

Ford stars as Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk in Marvel StudiosCaptain America: Brave New World, also known as Captain America 4. Directed by Julius Onah, the movie was released in United States theaters earlier this year and made approximately $415 million at the global box office.

In addition to Ford, the movie stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Xosha Roquemore as Leila Taylor, Giancarlo Esposito as Seth Voelker/Sidewinder, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, and Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns, among others.

What did Harrison Ford say about returning to the MCU?

Speaking with Variety, Ford was asked if Marvel’s Kevin Feige had convinced him to return to the MCU in some capacity in future projects following his Captain America role.

Ford simply answered, “Nope.”

When asked if he was ever going to retire from acting in general, Ford said, “No. That’s one of the things I thought was attractive about the job of an actor, was that they need old people, too, to play old people’s parts.”

At the end of Captain America: Brave New World, Ford’s Thaddeus character resigns as president of the United States following his outburst as Red Hulk. He’s then imprisoned in the Raft, where he’s visited by Sam and Betty.

The official synopsis for the movie reads, “In Captain America: Brave New World, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”

Captain America: Brave New World is now streaming on Disney+.
