Glen Powell Reveals Good Reason for Turning Down Jurassic World Rebirth

Glen Powell doesn’t seem like he’ll be stepping into the world of superheroes anytime soon.

What did Glen Powell say about turning down Jurassic World Rebirth?

Speaking to Empire Magazine about his upcoming starring role in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man remake, Powell said he’s just never found himself identifying with a superhero character, and would prefer to play more “ordinary” guys.

“I just don’t identify with people with superpowers for the most part,” Powell said. “I like the ordinary guy against extraordinary odds. The entire world is hunting this man, trying to kill him. Can he survive? Can he save his family? That’s a great, simple story.”

Powell has been a popular name that has been fancast in various superhero roles on the internet. However, it seems like Powell has no desire to do that. He also spoke about recently turning down a role in 2025’s Jurassic World Rebirth, noting that he simply couldn’t imagine himself in the movie when he thought about it.

“Sometimes you’ve got to close your eyes and put yourself in that movie, and you’re like, ‘No, I would not be good in this movie,’” said Powell. “‘There’s somebody better that’s gonna breathe more life into this, or can do a better job than I can.’ And you just have to be realistic about that. Sometimes you put yourself out of a job, but that’s okay.”
