Dafne Keen Discovers a Death Whistle in New Horror Movie Trailer

Shudder has shared the official Whistle trailer for its newest coming-of-age horror thriller, starring Deadpool and Wolverine’s Dafne Keen. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters sometime in 2026.

“A misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. They discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down,” reads the movie’s official synopsis. “As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.”

Who is in the Whistle trailer?

The video features Keen as part of a group of high school students, whose life turns into an instant nightmare after accidentally uncovering a cursed object. It highlights some of the movie’s terrifying sequences, as they try to find a way to escape the curse. Besides Keen, the trailer also includes Yellowjackets alum Sophie Nélisse, Shaun of the Dead star Nick Frost, and Wednesday’s Percy Hynes White. Also joining them are Sky Yang, Jhaleil Swaby, Ali Skovbye, and Michelle Fairley.

Whistle hails from Corin Hardy, who is directing from a screenplay written by Owen Egerton. This marks the filmmaker’s directorial feature comeback in a long while, after previously directing the 2018 Conjuring spin-off The Nun. It is produced by David Gross and Jesse Shapira for No Trace Camping, and Macdara Kelleher for Wild Atlantic Pictures.
