
Avatar: Fire and Ash Trailer Welcomes James Cameron Fans Back to Pandora
The first Avatar: Fire and Ash trailer has been released.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is the forthcoming third film in James Cameron’s Avatar series. Releasing in United States theaters this December, the film sees Sam Worthington once again reprise his role as Jake Sully.

What happens in the Avatar: Fire and Ash trailer?
The Avatar: Fire and Ash trailer brings fans of the franchise back to Pandora for a new adventure, with this movie introducing a new volcano-dwelling Ash clan. Along with Worthington, Zoe Saldaña returns in the movie as Neytiri.
The cast further includes Sigourney Weaver as Kiri, Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch, Giovanni Ribisi as Parker Selfridge, Kate Winslet as Ronal, Cliff Curtis as Tonowari, Joel David Moore as Dr. Norm Spellman, Edie Falco as General Frances Ardmore, Jemaine Clement as Dr. Ivan Garvin, Jack Champion as Miles “Spider” Socorro, David Thewlis as Peylak, and more.
The Avatar franchise began in 2009. The first movie grossed nearly $3 billion at the global box office and was nominated for numerous Academy Awards, winning Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects. The second film in the franchise, Avatar: The Way of Water, then came in 2022. That movie was also a massive hit, making around $2.3 billion at the global box office.
Avatar: Fire and Ash will be released in United States theaters on December 19, 2025, from 20th Century Studios. At least two more movies are planned following that, with Avatar 4 currently dated for December 21, 2029, and Avatar 5 for December 19, 2031. Cameron plans to direct both of the forthcoming sequels after Fire and Ash.
Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water, meanwhile, are both currently available to stream on Disney+.
