Superman Hall of Justice Mural Released, View DCU’s Metahumans & Vigilantes

Many eagle-eyed fans thought they saw some familiar faces in the background of one Superman scene. Specifically, the Hall of Justice, where a mural seemed to show several historic heroes of the DCU. James Gunn just confirmed the mural existed and released full images of it.

The mural was simultaneously released on Facebook, Threads, and Bluesky. It appears to be rendered in glass mosaics and modeled on a design by Winold Reiss depicting the history of Cincinnati. This would make the piece a reference to the real world Cincinnati Museum Center, which houses the Reiss mural. The Center was famously used as the model for the Hall of Justice.

Who are the heroes in the Superman Hall of Justice mural?

Beyond the many beloved DC Comics characters in the mural, Gunn teased another Easter egg of things to come. He said that one of the mural characters had already been cast in the DCU with a famous actor. Gunn later clarified on Threads that he was not referring to his brother, Sean Gunn, who is pictured in the mural as Maxwell Lord.

Speculation has run wild, with most of the guesses being centered around legendary actors Gunn has worked with before. One popular guess is Sylvester Stallone as the boxer turned vigilante Wildcat. This is a solid guess given Wildcat took on the role of training other heroes to fight, like Rocky Balboa in Creed, Another popular theory is Pierce Brosnan returning to the role of Doctor Fate after Black Adam. Whatever the case, there are many deep cuts in the mural that speak to the rich history of the DCU.
