Fantastic Four Fans Aren’t Amused With Dozens of Cut Scenes & Footage
Though Marvel fans have been showering The Fantastic Four: First Steps with love, they also don’t seem happy with many scenes deleted from the movie. Many are praising the story, but they have spotted some scenes that were originally a part of the trailer that were cut from the movie. Directed by Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrived in theaters on July 25, 2025.
Fans are complaining about Fantastic Four’s many deleted scenes
Marvel fans have taken over social media, complaining about scenes from The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailers that got deleted from the movie’s final cut.
Before the movie’s release, director Matt Shakman had already revealed that scenes featuring John Malkovich’s Red Ghost were entirely cut from the film. However, one of the most notable scenes that has been cut from the movie is when Reed Richards and Sue Storm give a tour of the Baxter building to someone.
While this was in the trailer, it is nowhere to be seen in the movie. Another dialogue, where Reed states that he “stretched the bounds of space, and they heard,” is also not found in the movie. This has led to many fans calling out the cuts.
A user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Thinking about how many scenes from the trailers were cut, I think Fantastic Four should have been about 20-30 minutes longer. The pacing was good and I love the movie as is, but there were some scenes I was really excited for that didn’t make the cut.”
Meanwhile, Alex Coleman stated, “Noticed they cut out quite a bit from the Fantastic Four First Steps trailers. Like some of the coolest things too.”
Moreover, a user demanded to see the longer cut of the movie. They wrote, “ReleaseTheShakmanCut …I’m gonna need that 4 hour version of The Fantastic Four First Steps. There’s so much cut from the trailers. #TheFantasticFour.”
Another fan conveyed, “This was one of the scenes from the trailers that I really wanted to see on the big screen but got cut for some reason.”
Regardless, fans can now catch The Fantastic Four: First Steps in their nearest cinemas.
