New Hunger Games Prequel Movie Casts 28 Years Later Star & 3 More

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has added four new cast members.

Sunrise on the Reaping is a new Hunger Games prequel movie that is an adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ novel of the same name. Releasing in 2026, the film is directed by Francis Lawrence, while the screenplay comes from Billy Ray.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has now begun production. The already announced cast of the movie includes Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Ralph Fiennes, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Jesse Plemons, Billy Porter, and Lili Taylor, alongside rising stars Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak, McKenna Grace, Ben Wang, and more.

Who has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping?

As announced on X, Iris Apatow will play Proserpina in Sunrise on the Reaping, while Jax Guerrero has been cast as Tibby, Edvin Ryding as Vitus, and Sandra Förster as Hersilia.

The daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, Iris Apatow has starred in movies such as 2007’s Knocked Up, 2009’s Funny People, 2012’s This Is 40, 2016’s Sasuage Party, 2022’s The Bubble, and 2024’s Young Werther, while she also played Georgia in Netflix’s Unstable.

Ryding recently played Erik in Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later, while he’s also known for playing Prince Wilhelm in Young Royals. Förster and Guerrero are both new, up-and-coming actors.

The cast further includes Laura Marcus as Silka, Percy Daggs IV as Ampert, Rada Rae as Wellie, Jhaleil Swaby as Panache, John Doeble as Buck, Alina Reid as Kerna, Salimou Thiam as Clayton, Kaine Buffonge as Hull, Sky Frances as Maritte, Tatyana Muzondo as Ringina, Kara Tointon as Willamae, Smylie Bradwell as Sid, Melody Chikakane Brown as Hattie Meeny, Grace Ackary as Asterid, Scot Greenan as Burdock, Jeffrey Hallman as Clerk Carmine, Serafin Mishiev as Woodbine Chance, and Jefferson White as Mr. McCoy.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will be released in United States theaters on November 20, 2026, from Lionsgate.
