
Train Dreams Trailer: Joel Edgerton Leads Acclaimed Netflix Movie
Netflix has finally announced the Train Dreams release date for its upcoming drama led by Golden Globe nominee Joel Edgerton Following its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, the movie is now scheduled to start streaming on November 21, 2025 on Netflix. Prior to this, the movie will first arrive in select theaters sometime in November, just in time for the Oscar season.
“The film is the moving portrait of Robert Grainier, a logger and railroad worker who leads a life of unexpected depth and beauty in the rapidly-changing America of the early 20th Century,” reads the official synopsis.

Who is in the Train Dreams trailer?
The video features Edgerton as a railroad worker struggling to find his place in a changing world. Joining him is fellow Star Wars alum Felicity Jones, who is playing the role of his wife Gladys Grainier. The cast also includes Nathaniel Arcand as Ignatius Jack, Clifton Collins Jr., John Diehl as Billy, Paul Schneider as Apostle Frank, Kerry Condon as Claire, and William H. Macy as Arn Peeples, with Will Patton set as the narrator.
The movie is directed by Clint Bentley, who co-wrote the screenplay with Greg Kwedar, based on Denis Johnson’s 2011 novella of the same name. It is executive produced by Edgerton, Scott Hinckley, Kwedar, and John Friedberg, with Marissa McMahon, Teddy Schwarzman, William Janowitz, Ashley Schlaifer, and Michael Heimler producing. Since its world premiere, the movie has garnered a Tomatometer rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 37 reviews.
