Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, & Keke Palmer Star in Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune Trailer

Lionsgate has shared the official Good Fortune trailer for its newest comedy, which hails from director and lead star Aziz Ansari. The movie will have its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival this September. It will then make its debut in theaters on October 17, 2025.

“In the film, a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker and a wealthy venture capitalist,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the new Good Fortune trailer?

The video introduces John Wick star Keanu Reeves as he becomes a guardian angel to Arj, a man who has given up on life after nothing seems to be going his way. In an attempt to help him show that money won’t solve all of his problems, Angel Gabriel switches Arj’s life with a wealthy man, who’s now forced to do the same odd jobs that Arj has been struggling with.

Good Fortune is written and directed by Ansari. The ensemble cast includes Reeves as Angel Gabriel, Ansari as Arj, Seth Rogen as Jeff, Keke Palmer as Elena, Sandra Oh as Martha, and more. The movie is produced by Ansari, Anthony Katagas, and Alan Yang, with Aniz Adam Ansari, Jonathan McCoy, Christopher Woodrow, and Connor DiGregorio serving as executive producers.

The creative team also includes director of photography Adam Newport-Berra and composer Carter Burwell. It is a production by Lionsgate, Media Capital Technologies, Garam Fiilms, Keep Your Head, and Yang Pictures.
