Thus, Fire and Ash’s trailer will be attached to the Marvel Studios movie that is coming out on July 25. The third part of the Avatar franchise is releasing in theaters on December 19, 2025. Moreover, Avatar 4 and 5 are expected to be out by 2029 and 2031, respectively.
Varang, who is the new antagonist of the franchise, is played by Oona Chaplin. She is the leader of the new Ash clan that is being introduced in the world of Pandora through Avatar 3.
While speaking about Varang in an interview with Empire in January 2025, Cameron said that Varang’s clan has “gone through an incredible hardship.”
He further added that Varang “will do anything” for her people, including things that can be considered “evil”. Cameron called Varang “an enemy, an adversarial character” who feels but “real and alive” due to Chaplin’s performance.
Cameron also addressed moving away from the human-only threat pattern of the last movies. He added that they wanted “to evolve beyond the ‘all humans are bad, all Na’vi are good’ paradigm.”
