What Galactus really wants in Fantastic Four revealed
A new clip of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, titled Are We Safe?, was posted by Marvel Studios, which teases Galactus’ goal in the movie.
The clip starts with the Fantastic Four in a press conference where Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards is taking questions from the reporters. Fans can see the Human Torch, The Thing, and Reed wearing their spacesuits in the clip. However, Sue Storm can be seen in the background wearing normal attire and holding Franklin Richards, Reed and Sue’s son.
The reporter asks Reed, “Can you take us through how you defeated Galactus?” But Reed seems unable to answer the question and looked at The Thing, who then reveals that they “didn’t” defeat Galactus.
Reed then says that they tried negotiating with Galactus, stating, “We attempted to negotiate, but Galactus… he asked too high a price.” The reporters further question what Galactus asked for, to which he responds, “He asked for our child.”
Galactus’ arrival on Earth was announced by his herald, Silver Surfer Shalla-Bal, played by Julia Garner. The synopsis of The Fantastic Four: First Steps described the cosmic entity as the “most daunting challenge” faced by the team ever. Galactus is portrayed by Ralph Ineson in the movie.
While speaking about Galactus in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pascal said, “It is definitely a scale of threat which Reed has never experienced.”
