Guy Gardner & Lois Lane Argue in New Superman Clip Ahead of Release

A new Superman clip showing Guy Gardner talking about Clark Kent’s hypno glasses with Lois Lane was shown during Nathan Fillion’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The glasses are one of the most iconic parts of Kent’s attire. Previously, director James Gunn shared that Clark Kent makes use of the glasses in the movie to conceal his Superman identity.

Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner can be seen having a conversation about hypno glasses with Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane in a new clip.

The clip shows Gardner asking Lois Lane how she knows Superman. Lane says, “I just do,” and Gardner asks whether she is aware of the hypno glasses that Clark Kent wears. Although Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl calls him out for revealing Superman’s secrets to Lane, Gardner denies spoiling the Man of Steel’s identity and explains how the glasses truly work.

He says, “I’m not saying who he is, just that he wears hypno glasses. They make his face terrific. How do they work? They make his face look different in your brain when he wears them so that you don’t know who he is.” Lane quickly replies by saying that she knows about the hypno glasses.

While speaking to Comicbook.com recently, Gunn shared that he got the idea to use the hypno glasses after talking to Tom King. He explained, “I was sitting with Tom King, the comic book writer, and I was like, ‘You know the thing that I just don’t really know how to reconcile in myself is the glasses because the glasses always bothered me as a kid.’ They bothered me because I just don’t have that much suspension of disbelief to believe that. But he said, ‘You know, there’s an answer for that in the comics, it’s canon that they hypnotize people.’”
