M3GAN 2.0’s Jenna Davis Wants 5 More Sequels, Horror Crossover Movies | Interview

ComingSoon Senior Editor Brandon Schreur spoke to M3GAN 2.0 star Jenna Davis about reprising her vocal role as the titular character in the Blumhouse horror movie sequel, her partnership with Raising Cane’s, and her new pop-country album.

“Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous rampage, its creator, Gemma, has become an advocate for government oversight of AI,” the synopsis for M3GAN 2.0 reads. “Unbeknownst to her, a defense contractor has created a military-grade weapon known as Amelia, the ultimate infiltration spy. However, as Emlia’s self-awareness increases, it becomes less interested in taking orders. Hoping to stop Emilia, Gemma decides to resurrect M3GAN, making it faster, stronger, and more lethal.”

M3GAN 2.0 hits theaters everywhere in the United States on June 27, 2025, from Universal Pictures.

Returning for M3GAN 2.0 and where the franchise could go next

Davis touched on how, when making the first movie, they had no idea that it would spawn a huge horror franchise or that M3GAN would become a huge pop-culture icon. She expressed her gratitude towards the fans for supporting the first film, which allowed for the sequel to happen.

Regarding what M3GAN 2.0 has in store for fans, Davis commented that viewers of the first movie were split on whether they saw M3GAN as an anti-hero or a straight-up villain. This time around, she said she thinks people will be rooting for her character. M3GAN is as sassy as ever before, Davis noted, but she’s also changed since the first movie, and Davis is excited to see how fans react to her.

Earlier this week, M3GAN 2.0 writer and director Gerard Johnstone told The Hollywood Reporter that he wouldn’t be “surprised if there’s another five of these movies.” Davis told ComingSoon that she is all-in for however many M3GAN sequels end up happening, and she’d be totally onboard with there being seven movies.

Davis further said that she loves the idea of there being some sort of horror crossover with M3GAN and that what she would really like to see is a rom-com involving the titular killer doll.

Raising Cane’s partnership and new pop-country album

Davis has also partnered with Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers in a new promotion. Davis said that, after the New York premiere of M3GAN 2.0, she returned to her hotel room and filmed content of herself going from her red carpet look to after-party attire while enjoying Cane’s.

She further touched on her love for Raising Cane’s and how, originally being from Texas, she’s been a long-time fan of the food chain.

In addition to M3GAN 2.0’s release, Davis is releasing her first-ever album, Where Did That Girl Go? Davis said that the passion project was a long time coming and that she spent a lot of time making fun, catchy songs that her fans will surely love. Where Did That Girl Go? will be available on June 27, 2025.
