What happens in My Mother’s Wedding trailer?
The movie marks the directorial debut of Thomas, who also wrote the screenplay with John Micklethwait. The trailer opens with a family reunion among Diana and her three daughters, with the three of them jokingly pointing out Diana’s third wedding by asking her questions about her last name. It was then revealed that the movie is based on a true story; Thomas, who both lost her biological and stepfather at a young age, drew inspiration from her own family history.
While the family reunion seems peaceful at first, the three find their common ground: they question their mother’s decision to marry a man they consider “dull.” As they prepare for their mother’s big event, the three grapple with their past while dealing with the present as sisters and daughters to their mother — all while navigating their personal lives and dilemmas.
