Superman Video Details DCU Character’s Greatest Strength

DC Studios has unveiled a brand new Superman video for its long-awaited DC Universe movie, which will serve as the first installment of its Chapter One: Gods and Monster saga. It is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 11, 2025.

What is seen in the new Superman video?

The video highlights the Man of Steel’s conflict with some humans, who see him as a threat instead of a hero. It also teases a scene featuring the titular hero as he tries to prove to everyone that he isn’t that different from other people. The ensemble cast is led by David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

“In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind,” reads the synopsis.

Superman is written and directed by James Gunn, based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Additional cast members include Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teshmacher, Anthony Carrigan as Metarmorpho, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Edi Gathegi, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, and Neva Howell as Martha Kent, along with Alan Tudyk, Michael Rooker, and Grace Chan. It is executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther.
