3 Guardians of the Galaxy Stars Confirmed for Superman Roles
Pom Klementieff’s secret role in James Gunn’s Superman movie has been revealed.
Superman will fly into theaters next month from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures. Written and directed by Gunn, the film stars David Corenswet as the titular superhero, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
Who does Pom Klementieff play in Superman?
Gunn previously worked with Klementieff at Marvel Studios, as the Mission: Impossible star plays Mantis in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. She also had an uncredited cameo in Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which was released in 2021.
Now, Gunn has confirmed that Klementieff is joining the DCU as her voice will be heard in Superman as one of the robots that inhabit the Fortress of Solitude.
Gunn told Buzzfeed Australia, “I will give you something that nobody knows. Pom Klementieff is one of the robots. In that same scene, it’s Bradley [Cooper], it’s also Pom, and Michael Rooker is another one of the robots. We’ve got two Guardians right there.”
Cooper and Rooker’s casting was already known; however, this means that the Superman robots are a mini Guardians of the Galaxy reunion, as Cooper voices Rocket Raccoon for Marvel and Rooker starred as Yondu in the first two films. Another robot is being voiced by Alan Tudyk.
The synopsis for Superman reads, “Superman, DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”
Superman hits United States theaters and IMAX on July 11, 2025, as part of the DCU’s first chapter, titled “Gods and Monsters.”
