Mystery Pixar Movie Gets Release Date After Gatto

Disney announced the release date for an untitled mystery Pixar movie, which will come out nearly a year after Luca filmmaker Enrico Casarosa’s next Italy-set animated movie titled Gatto.

Gatto is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 18, 2027. The story follows a black cat named Nero, who is indebted to a feline mob boss. He finds himself forced to forge an unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose. At the moment, the studio hasn’t revealed its official voice cast yet.

When is the new release date for the mystery Pixar movie?

After Gatto, Disney and Pixar will be releasing a mystery animated movie on March 10, 2028. So far, the only other Pixar project that is scheduled for a 2028 release is the highly anticipated Incredibles 3, which has no exact theatrical release date yet.

Incredibles 3 has just recently received a new update about a change in its creative team. After directing the first two installments, Brad Bird will now be replaced by another veteran Pixar filmmaker in the form of Peter Sohn. Bird had to exit the project due to his prior commitments to another project. However, he is expected to remain as the threequel’s writer and executive producer.

Even though this will mark as Sohn’s third feature-length directorial movie, he has been a staple figure in Pixar for the past two decades. Prior to directing 2023’s hit romance comedy Elemental, he was part of the creative team on a number of popular Pixar movies, including Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, Monsters University, Inside Out, and more.
