Marvel Fans React to Sabrina Carpenter’s Dazzler Casting Rumor in MCU

Fans have given a mixed reaction to the rumors that Sabrina Carpenter is being considered for the role of Dazzler in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Notably, Dazzler is a popular character in the comics, where she has made regular appearances since the ’80s. There have also been rumors that Taylor Swift might play the role.

Not all fans are happy about Sabrina Carpenter’s Dazzler rumor for MCU

Rumors are circulating that Sabrina Carpenter is being eyed for Dazzler in the MCU. This prompted Marvel fans to take to social media and voice their opinions.

Some fans believe that it might be a good idea. @BlakeNorthcott shared on X (formerly Twitter), “If this is true, it’s brilliant. The woman playing Dazzler should be a pop star IRL, and the casting should gently tap the 4th wall.”

@MarioEmmet posted on the same platform that it was a “good idea.” According to @DanFriedman81, “If there’s one thing Marvel fans love, it’s Sabrina Carpenter.”

Almost predictably, the rumor has also drawn negative reactions from some sections of fans. @simplepeep shared, “Sorry, but can’t you get an actual actor/actress for that role?” Meanwhile, @southernstonerd compared the height of Carpenter and the character she might play in the MCU. Notably, Carpenter is approximately 5 feet or 152 cm tall, whereas Dazzler, whose alter ego is Alison “Ali” Blaire, is reportedly 5 feet 8 inches, or around 172 cm, tall in the comics.

As mentioned above, there are some fans who wondered about the rumors of Taylor Swift being eyed for the role. @BlazeRN617 wrote, “I thought Taylor was supposed to be Dazzler.”

Writer/editor Tom DeFalco and illustrator John Romita Jr. created Dazzler, who made her first comic-book appearance in The Uncanny X-Men #130, published in February 1980. She is a mutant with the ability to convert sonic vibrations into light. She is also a trained singer, dancer, and actress. If the above rumors turn out to be accurate, Carpenter could be a good fit for the character. Before she became a pop star, Carpenter had a breakthrough via Disney. She played Maya Hart in Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World.
