F1’s Damson Idris Has Had Talks With Marvel
Snowfall star Damson Idris has finally addressed the rumors regarding his potential Black Panther talks with Marvel Studios. Following Chadwick Boseman’s untimely death, 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced Letitia Wright’s Shuri as the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s newest Black Panther.
A recent rumor suggested that the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie might feature a second Black Panther who fans are speculating to be T’Challa’s son. Another popular theory is that another variant of the beloved hero could also appear in Doomsday.
What did Damson Idris say about Marvel?
When asked if he had already met with Marvel Studios about potentially playing Black Panther during a recent interview with Today, Idris answered coyly with a “Yes — no!” reply. In addition, the British actor also said “Yes” to the interviewer’s follow-up Marvel question that he would sign on for the role if Marvel Studios asked him to become Black Panther.
Idris is best known for his leading role in the FX drama Snowfall, which wrapped up its six-season run in 2023. He will next be seen starring opposite Brad Pitt in the upcoming F1 movie. He’s also attached to star in the upcoming Children of Blood and Bone adaptation.
At the moment, Wright is currently filming Avengers: Doomsday along with returning Wakanda Forever cast members Winston Duke as M’Baku and Tenoch Mejia Huerta as Namor. The movie is being directed by Avengers: Endgame filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo from a screenplay written by Stephen McFeely.
