Willem Dafoe Is an Evil Tenant in The Man in My Basement Teaser Trailer

Willem Dafoe is once again back in the thriller genre. Hulu has unveiled the teaser trailer for The Man in My Basement, showing the acclaimed actor forcing his way into someone’s once humble and peaceful abode.

The upcoming psychological thriller is based on the critically acclaimed novel of the same name by celebrated author Walter Mosley. Published in 2004, The Man in My Basement is widely recognized as one of the writer’s best novels. Nadia Latif directed the movie adaptation and has co-written the script alongside Mosley himself.

What happens in The Man in My Basement teaser trailer?

Everything terrifying transpires over a knock on the door. The teaser trailer opens with Charles Blakey (played by Corey Hawkins) answering the knock from a stranger, who the trailer reveals to be Dafoe’s mysterious character. He shows interest in renting Blakey’s basement for $1,000 a day for a total of 65 days, which Blakey immediately — although seemingly hesitant — agreed to. Despite the interesting offer, he’s unaware of the danger he welcomed into his home.
