Tom Hiddleston’s exclusive Loki reveal for Avengers: Doomsday
In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tom Hiddleston confirmed that Loki remains the guardian of the timelines in the MCU. When Kimmel asked about Loki’s role following the Loki Season 2 finale, Hiddleston replied, “Still is,” indicating that his character continues to hold all the multiverse timelines in place.
Pressed further about Loki’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday, Hiddleston said, “I will be there,” confirming his appearance in the film. He declined to share additional details due to Marvel’s strict confidentiality rules. “We always do this dance,” he said, referring to the usual secrecy surrounding MCU projects.
Hiddleston also revealed how he found out about his inclusion in the cast. Referring to Marvel’s behind-the-scenes planning, he said, “I didn’t know. I was like, ‘Oh, I guess I’m in the movie,’” after seeing his name among others on the back of a chair. He added, “In fairness, I did know I was in the movie,” but mentioned he is “used to” staying silent until officially cleared to speak.
Loki last appeared at the end of Loki Season 2, where he took control of the timelines. The season ended with him sacrificing his freedom to bring stability to the multiverse. His role in Doomsday is likely to continue from that point, making him central to the next multiversal conflict.
Avengers: Doomsday will release on December 18, 2026. The film features returning MCU actors including Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, and Anthony Mackie. It also includes cast members from the X-Men universe such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden.
