
Superman: James Gunn Shares Hilarious Video Featuring DCU Movie Toys
James Gunn has shared a “hilarious” Superman video that showcases some toys for the upcoming DCU movie.
Superman will be released in United States theaters this coming July. Written and directed by Gunn, the film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, while Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane and Nicholas Holt portrays Lex Luthor.
What happens in the Superman video shared by James Gunn?
On X, Gunn shared a video featuring some Superman toys from Spin Master. The video sees Superman fighting a monstrous kaiju that causes a “slime explosion” whenever it gets punched. The Justice Gang — which includes Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific — then swoop in to join the Man of Steel in battle.

“Superman, DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures,” the synopsis for the DCU movie reads. “In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”
The cast of Superman further includes Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemarie as Otis, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer.
Gunn and Peter Safran are both producing the movie, while Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther serve as executive producers.
Superman will be released in United States theaters and IMAX on July 11, 2025, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
