
Eddie Murphy & Pete Davidson Movie The Pickup Gets Release Date, First Photos
Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson’s new comedy movie, The Pickup, has been given a release date.
The Pickup comes from director Tim Story and Amazon MGM Studios. Written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, the film also stars Eva Longoria and Keke Palmer in addition to Murphy and Davidson.

The Pickup will be released globally on Amazon Prime Video on August 6, 2025. Check out a poster for the movie and a handful of first-look images below.
“In the action-comedy The Pickup, a routine cash pickup takes a wild turn when two mismatched armored truck drivers, Russell (Eddie Murphy) and Travis (Pete Davidson), are ambushed by ruthless criminals led by a savvy mastermind, Zoe (Keke Palmer), with plans that go way beyond the cash cargo,” the official synopsis reads. “As chaos unfolds around them, the unlikely duo must navigate high-risk danger, clashing personalities, and one very bad day that keeps getting worse.”
The cast of the movie further includes Ismael Cruz Cordova, Jack Kesy, Andrew Dice Clay, Marshawn Lynch, and Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i. Murphy and Story both produce the movie alongside John David, John Fox, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster.
Story is known for directing the two live-action Fantastic Four movies that were released in the 2000s: 2005’s Fantastic Four and 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. His filmography also includes 2002’s Barbershop, 2012’s Think Like a Man, 2014’s Ride Along, 2019’s Shaft, 2021’s Tom & Jerry, and 2022’s The Blackening. His most recent movie was the 2023 Christmas comedy Dashing Through the Snow.
Murphy, meanwhile, recently starred in a different Christmas comedy released in 2023, Candy Cane Lane. In 2024, he reprised his role as Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. He will also soon be heard as Donkey once again in Shrek 5, which releases in 2026.
