Elio Final Trailer Previews Pixar’s Zoe Saldaña Sci-Fi Comedy Movie

Pixar has shared the final Elio trailer for its newest sci-fi animated comedy, which hails from the Turning Red and Coco filmmakers. The out-of-this-world movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 20, 2025.

What happens in the Elio final trailer?

The video continues to highlight the titular character’s desire to belong after struggling to fit in with other kids. He finally achieves this in the most unexpected place ever, where he becomes the ambassador of Earth to friendly aliens whom he must now protect from an invading enemy.

Elio is directed by Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi, and Adrian Molina from a screenplay written by Molina, Mike Jones, Julia Cho, and Mark Hammer. The animated movie features the voices of Yonas Kibreab as Elio, Zoe Saldaña as Aunt Olga, Remy Edgerly as Glordon, Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, and Shirley Henderson as Ooooo. It is produced by Mary Alice Drumm, serving as the producer.

“For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers — in Disney and Pixar’s all-new feature film, the universe calls back! When Elio is beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide, Elio’s all in for the epic undertaking,” reads the movie’s official synopsis. “Mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be.”
