Filming wraps on Voltron movie with Henry Cavill, release date not revealed yet
The producer of the Voltron movie recently announced that the project has wrapped filming.
In a note on Instagram, Bob Koplar stated, “Our live-action Voltron film has officially wrapped production, and we’re THRILLED with how it all went. I’ve been with this franchise for years and can proudly say that this WILL be the Voltron experience our fans have been dreaming of.”
Koplar further assured fans that they will be the first ones to know about the release plans for the movie. He added, “There’s been some chatter out there about the plans for the film’s launch, and we’d like to assure you, when official plans are set for the film, you will be the first to hear it right here. Stay with us! I promise it’ll be worth the wait!”
Here’s what Koplar shared:
The Volton movie is a live-action adaptation of the hit 1980s anime, produced by Amazon MGM Studios. According to Screen Rant, a release date for the Voltron movie has not been confirmed yet. However, fans can expect it to be included in the 2026 slate. This is because the movie has already wrapped production.
Additionally, although fans were hoping for a theatrical release for the movie, some sources suggested otherwise. As per The Wrap, a source recently claimed, “Despite Amazon’s commitment to theatrical exhibition, Voltron is going straight to their Prime Video streaming service.”
