A recent screening of Final Destination Bloodlines turned horrifying for a moviegoer as the cinema hall ceiling collapsed on her. The movie opened in theaters on May 16, 2025, and has received largely positive reviews from critics.

According to a report by Infobae, Final Destination almost turned real for a moviegoer after the theater ceiling fell on her during the screening of Bloodlines.

A woman named Fiamma Villaverde was accompanying her 11-year-old daughter and a close friend to the movie on May 19. Villaverde attended the 9 p.m. show of the movie at a cinema hall in Buenos Aires. While almost 40 people were enjoying Final Destination Bloodlines at Cinema Ocho in La Plata, their viewing experience was interrupted by a loud bang.

Although Villaverde, who was sitting near the steps in room 4, heard the sound, she thought that it was the movie’s sound effect. This is when the ceiling immediately collapsed on her. She told the outlet, “There was a really loud noise. At first, we thought it was part of the movie because we were so absorbed, but then a huge piece fell on me. It didn’t hit my head because I was leaning slightly over the armrest.”

The piece of ceiling that fell on her hit her back, ankle, and knee. Soon after the incident, the woman asked the theater for a refund, and the ambulance was called. Villaverde further conveyed that the theater inquired about how she wanted to fix the situation. To this, she replied, “‘I’m going to file a complaint. Just imagine if they hit my daughter in the head! They’re irresponsible!”

Villaverda further added, “I was really upset… They took an x-ray. The diagnosis was trauma from the blow. I also had several bruises. I’m undergoing psychiatric treatment and on medication. I have a hard time being in crowded places. I hadn’t been to the movies in years. I went because it was my birthday, and look what happened to me.”
