Final Destination Bloodlines Box Office Hits Key Milestone, Will Be Franchise Best Soon

After taking a hiatus of a whopping 14 years, the Final Destination franchise has now made a triumphant return, with Final Destination Bloodlines breaking multiple box office records for the film series since its release. The Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein-helmed project is on track to become the highest-grossing entry in the franchise, a milestone that the movie should reach in the coming days.

Final Destination Bloodlines almost beats all past franchise movies at box office

Final Destination Bloodlines commenced its run on the worldwide box office with a massive $102 million collection on its opening weekend, eclipsing Final Destination 2’s global revenue in three days. As it is with horror flicks, the film’s financial performance has experienced a steep decline ever since.

Nevertheless, the sixth Final Destination installment has managed to hold its ground, despite battling for the audience’s attention against certified summer blockbusters like Lilo & Stitch and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Bloodlines has already crossed the $150 million mark, becoming the seventh movie to do so in 2025 so far.

At the time of writing, Final Destination Bloodlines has grossed $187.1 million at the box office (as per Box Office Mojo), domestic and international returns included, making it the second most successful addition to the fan-favorite horror franchise since its inception in 2000. With 2009’s The Final Destination leading the way with a lifetime global collection of $187.4 million, fans can expect the 2025 sequel to surpass the earnings of its predecessor sooner rather than later.

In addition to its success at the worldwide box office, Final Destination Bloodlines has also fared well with critics and presently boasts an impressive 92% on Rotten Tomatoes‘ Tomatometer. Reviewers have especially praised the movie for its fresh take on the now-famous Final Destination trope, with ComingSoon.net’s Jonathan Sim calling it “a high-concept wrinkle that re-energizes the series with fresh stakes and a more layered mystery.”

Having premiered on May 16, 2025, in the U.S., Final Destination Bloodlines is currently enjoying a fruitful run in the theaters.
