Jake Busey & Martin Kove Are Assassins in Killing Mary Sue Trailer | Exclusive

ComingSoon can exclusively reveal the trailer for a new action movie titled Killing Mary Sue.

Killing Mary Sue stars Sierra McCormick (The Last Stop in Yuma County), Dermot Mulroney (Anyone But You, Scream VI), Jake Busey (Stranger Things), Martin Kove (Cobra Kai), and more. Written and directed by James Sunshine, the movie will be released this coming June.

What happens in the Killing Mary Sue trailer?

The Killing Mary Sue trailer sees McCormick playing a character, Mary Sue Harper, whose father was killed when she was just a little girl. Since then, Mary Sue’s mother married a rich senator, Bradley Weiner, played by Mulroney. When Mary Sue starts to become a liability, Mulroney’s character decides he wants her killed and hires assassins played by Busey, Kove to and more to do so.

“A corrupt senator arranges for the murder of his biggest liability, his erratic burnout step-daughter, only for her to unwittingly discover her natural talent as an untouchable killer,” the official synopsis reads.

Killing Mary Sue also stars Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints), French Stewart (Bob Trevino Likes It), Kym Whitley (Act Your Age), and Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back). Jonathan Sachar, Larry Layfield, Patrick Durham, and Dave Lugo are producers on the film.

“We’re excited to be working with Goldwyn, we think they’ll do a great job getting this unique and fun film out there for all to see and enjoy,” Sachar previously said in a statement, via Deadline.

Sunshine has been involved as a producer on shows such as Project Runway, Total Divas, MasterChef USA, Big Brother, Supermarket Stakeout, Hell’s Kitchen, and more. He made his feature film directorial debut in 2021 with a movie titled Coronavirus Conspiracy.

Killing Mary Sue will be released on June 13, 2025, from Samuel Goldwyn Films.
