Jai Courtney Is a Shark-Obsessed Serial Killer in Dangerous Animals Trailer

IFC Films and Shudder have finally unveiled the official Dangerous Animals trailer for its newest horror thriller led by The Suicide Squad star Jai Courtney. The movie is currently scheduled to debut in theaters on June 6, 2025.

“When Zephyr, a rebellious surfer, is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and held captive on his boat, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the Dangerous Animals trailer?

The video shows Courtney as a shark-obsessed killer who traps his victims on a boat with the intention of feeding them to his favorite predators as a form of his entertainment. The trailer highlights some of the movie’s intense and thrilling sequences involving Courtney’s character. The cast also includes Hassie Harrison, Josh Heuston, Rob Carlton, Ella Newton, James Munn, Michael Goldman, Jon Quested, Liam Greinke, and more.

Dangerous Animals is directed by Sean Byrne from a screenplay written by Nick Lepard. The film is executive produced by Fred Berger, Michael Glassman, Mehrdod Heydari, Marlaina Mah, Jacob Yakob, and Joseph Yakob. Producers are Chris Ferguson, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Mickey Liddell, Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, and Pete Shilaimon.

Courtney most recently starred in Netflix’s Western action drama American Primeval with Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin. He will next be seen in the crime drama movie Beef with Timothy Olyphant and in the sci-fi action thriller War Machine with Alan Ritchson and Dennis Quaid.
