Predator: Badlands Director Teases More Surprises Following Teaser Trailer

The Predator: Badlands trailer is teasing more surprises to come following the release of the first teaser trailer.

Predator: Badlands is a new installment in the Predator franchise that is directed by Dan Trachtenberg. Starring Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, the movie will be released in United States theaters this coming November.

What did Dan Trachtenberg say about the Predator: Badlands trailer?

The first teaser trailer for Predator: Badlands has now been released and can be viewed below; however, Trachtenberg says there’s much more in store for fans of the franchise beyond what’s shown in the new footage.

Trachtenberg said on X, “Our first teaser. Lemme tell you, this barely scratches the surface. Up on the BIG screen Nov 7!!!”

The official synopsis for Predator: Badlands reads, “Predator: Badlands, which stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.”

Trachtenberg previously directed 2016’s 10 Cloverfield Lane and 2022’s Prey, the latter of which serves as a Predator prequel movie. He’s also directing another animated Predator movie, Predator: Killer of Killers, which will be released on Hulu in the United States on June 6, 2025.

Whether or not there’s any greater connection between Predator: Killer of Killers and Predator: Badlands beyond both films featuring a Yautja remains to be seen.

“The anthology story follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause,” the official Killer of Killers synopsis reads. “But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent – the ultimate killer of killers.”

Predator: Badlands will be released in United States theaters on November 7, 2025, from 20th Century Studios.
