What happens in the Skillhouse trailer?

The video kidnaps multiple social media influencers, who each have millions of followers, in order to force them to participate in a brutal game of survival. If they want to live, they must produce the content with the most likes, or else they will have to face a gruesome death at the hands of 50 Cent.

Skillhouse is written and directed by Josh Stolberg. The ensemble cast also includes Bryce Hall, Hannah Stocking, Neal McDonough, McCarrie McCausland, Caitlin Carmichael, Leah Pipes, John DeLuca, Emily Mei, Dani Oliveros, Ivan Leung, Gilli Messer, Abigail Killmeier, Drew McAnany, and Kaitlyn Squires, with combat sports fighter and celebrity influencer Paige VanZant. Besides 50 Cent, the movie is also produced by Ryan Kavanaugh, Shane Valdez, and Brad Baskin. It hails from GenTv and Fathom Entertainment.

“Horror has always been a genre that captivates moviegoers, but never has Fathom distributed to movie theatres a project quite like Skillhouse,” Fathom Entertainment CEO Ray Nutt said in a statement. “Social media permeates our society today, and influencers have changed the dynamics of how many choose the brands they purchase and the content they consume. The brilliant Skillhouse concept is ripe for exploration on-screen and is a success story in leveraging innovative ways to reach audiences and engage with them. Fathom is proud to work with the GenTv team to bring this film to audiences on July 11.”
