Jennifer Lopez & Robert Zemeckis Team for New Netflix Movie, Title Revealed

Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Lopez has officially found her next project with Netflix in the form of the upcoming film adaptation of The Last Mrs. Parrish, based on Liv Constantine’s 2018 novel. Lopez will be playing the lead character, with Academy Award-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump) signing on to helm the movie.

This marks Lopez’s latest movie with Netflix, after previously starring in 2023’s action thriller The Mother, and in last year’s sci-fi action thriller Atlas. At the moment, Lopez is in production with Brett Goldstein for the romantic comedy movie Office Romance, which will also be released on Netflix. She will also next be seen in Bill Condon’s musical drama movie Kiss of the Spider Woman, which arrives in theaters on October 10, 2025.

What is The Last Mrs. Parrish about?

“The story follows a con artist (Lopez) who targets a wealthy couple — the Parrishes — as her next victims. She infiltrates the pair by befriending the wife and seducing the husband, with the master plan of becoming the next Mrs. Parrish, only to discover that the wife’s life is far more complicated than she could have imagined,” reads the synopsis.

The Last Mrs. Parrish movie will be directed by Zemeckis from a screenplay written by Andrea Berloff and Oscar nominee John Gatins. This serves as Zemeckis’ first time directing a movie for Netflix. It is produced by Lopez, Liza Chasin, Molly Sims, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina, with Margaret Chernin, Lynne Constantine, Valerie Constantine, Jack Rapke, and Derek Hogue executive producing.
