Robert De Niro Crime Movie The Whisper Man Adds Michael Keaton & 4 More to Cast
Michael Keaton has joined the cast of The Whisper Man.
The Whisper Man is a forthcoming Netflix movie that is an adaptation of Alex North’s novel, which was published in 2019. It was previously announced that the film will star Robert De Niro, Adam Scott, and Michelle Monaghan.
Who has joined the cast of The Whisper Man?
Per Deadline, Keaton has been cast in the movie in an undisclosed role; however, he’s only expected to receive a “cameo credit.”
Also joining the cast are John Carroll Lynch (Fargo), Hamish Linklater (Midnight Mass), Owen Teague (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), and Acston Luca Porto (Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado).
The film is directed by James Ashcroft, who recently made The Rule of Jenny Pen starring John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush. The script comes from Ben Jacoby and Chase Palmer, while Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Michael Disco serve as producers for AGBO.
“The Whisper Man revolves around a widow crime writer who, after his 8-year-old son is abducted, looks to his estranged father, a retired former police detective, for help, only to discover a connection with the decades-old case of a convicted serial killer known as The Whisper Man,” Deadline’s description of the plot reads.
Kassee Whiting and Marcus Viscidi both serve as executive producers on the film. Production is expected to start this spring.
“AGBO is excited to be embarking on our sixth film with our incredible partners at Netflix,” AGBO’s Angela Russo-Otstot said, via Netflix Tudum. “The Whisper Man is a gripping thriller, but at its core [it] is a poignant and complex story of father and sons. We are grateful to have one of the finest actors of his generation, Robert De Niro, anchoring that story and with the remarkable James Ashcroft directing.”
A release date for The Whisper Man has not yet been announced.
