Silent Night, Deadly Night Reboot Cast Finds Its Billy Chapman

A Halloween Ends star has joined Cineverse’s upcoming Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot as the new Billy Chapman.

It was announced last year that Terrifier outfit Cineverse had acquired global rights to the reboot of the cult horror film, which was deemed offensive and controversial at the time of its release back in 1984. The original holiday slasher, directed by Charles E. Sellier Jr., starred Robert Brian Wilson as Billy Chapman.

Who’s the new Billy Chapman in Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot cast?

Rohan Campbell, who portrayed Corey Cunningham in 2022’s Halloween Ends, will be donning the Santa Claus suit in the planned Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot. A Scream King in the making, Campbell was most recently seen in Osgood Perkins’ black comedy horror The Monkey.

Campbell’s other movie and television credits include The Right Kind of Wrong, The Valley Below, Diablo, Boundaries, Operation Christmas Drop, Mech-X4, iZombie, Snowpiercer, and The Hardy Boys, among others.

The 1984 Silent Night, Deadly Night movie centered on Billy, who grew up to be a cold-blooded killer after witnessing his parents murder at the hands of a man disguised as Saint Nick on Christmas Eve. His upbringing in an orphanage did not help him cope up with the death of his parents and led him to become a distressed adult who has a psychological breakdown one Christmas day.

Hailed as one of the most controversial 80s horror movies of all time, Silent Night, Deadly Night only spent a few days in theaters after it was pulled due to an organized protest from parents who found the slasher offensive.

The reboot will be written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85), with Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead — executive producers of the original film alongside Jamie R. Thompson — producing. Additional producers include Jamie R. Thompson, Erik Bernard, and Jeremy Torrie, with Steven Schneider (Insidious) and Anthony Masi (Halloween: 25 Years of Terror) executive producing.
