Deadpool & Wolverine’s Ryan Reynolds Shares Hilarious Rob McElhenney Cameo Video
Ryan Reynolds has shared a hilarious video poking fun at Rob McElhenney’s cut Deadpool & Wolverine cameo in honor of the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star’s birthday.
McElhenney is known for creating, starring in, and co-developing FX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia alongside Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton. The actor, who co-owns the Welsh football club Wrexham A.F.C. with Reynolds, had a cameo in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine as a Time Variance Authority Soldier; however, the scene was ultimately cut out of the MCU movie.
What happens in the video Ryan Reynolds shared for Rob McElhenney’s birthday?
Reynolds says in the video, “Robert, happy birthday! My god, another year, another trip around the old Keith moon. God, you know, so many highs and so many lows. Incredible highs with you, obviously, doing a cameo in the Deadpool film, and then incredible lows with you being cut out of the Deadpool film. Now, to make up for that for your birthday this year, we’ve inserted you into many of my other films, all of which are available at your local Blockbuster or wherever laser disc is sold.”
Set to Dear Evan Hansen’s “You Will Be Found,” the video then shows a number of clips from some of Reynolds’ movies — including Green Lantern, Red Notice, Free Guy, and many more — that have McElhenney digitally inserted into them.

While McElhenney’s cameo from Deadpool & Wolverine may have been cut, the two actors will soon be seen together in the fourth season of FX’s Welcome to Wrexham, which is a documentary show about them owning Wrexham A.F.C. Welcome to Wrexham Season 4 premieres on May 15, 2025.
Deadpool & Wolverine, meanwhile, is currently available to stream on Disney+, while all 16 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia can be streamed on Hulu.
