Companion Max Streaming Release Date Set for Jack Quaid Sci-Fi Movie
Warner Bros. Discovery has officially announced the Companion Max streaming release date, revealing when the Jack Quaid-led sci-fi thriller will release.
When is the Companion Max streaming release date?
Companion will arrive on Max on April 18, 2025. The next day, April 19, the movie will debut on HBO at 8:00 p.m. ET. Earlier this year, the film released on digital platforms, and during the beginning of the month, the film launched on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
Companion was written and directed by Drew Hancock. The movie stars Jack Quaid and Sophie Thatcher as a couple going on a weekend getaway with friends at a remote cabin, that quickly unravels into chaos.
Alongside Quaid and Thatcher, the cast also includes Lukas Gage (Smile 2), Megan Suri (Never Have I Ever), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), and Rupert Friend (Asteroid City). It was produced by Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Zach Cregger and Roy Lee, with Tracy Rosenblum and Jamie Buckner serving as executive producers.
The film is produced by the filmmakers behind “Barbarian”—Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Zach Cregger and Roy Lee. The executive producers are Tracy Rosenblum and Jamie Buckner.
Hancock, who also wrote the screenplay, said of the film, “The silver lining of showing the audience [that] this is a movie about a robot is it’s a way to kind of get ahead of anyone dismissing it as another robot movie. Because it’d be so easy to just be like, ‘This is M3GAN,’ or, ‘This is the Megan Fox movie [Subservience].’ It’s a little different to be like, ‘No, this is a robot movie, but it’s not like any other robot movie that’s out right now.’ It’s not A.I. gone wrong, it’s A.I. gone right.”
