Minecraft Streamer Valkyrae Reacts to Cut Movie Cameo After Jason Momoa Controversy
YouTuber and Twitch streamer Rachell Hofstetter, better known by her streaming name Valkyrae, recently reacted to her cut cameo from A Minecraft Movie.
What did Valkyrae say about being cut from Minecraft?
Valkyrae has said she wouldn’t “touch too much on it,” but did confirm that her planned cameo from the movie was cut. She did not reveal exactly why the scene was cut, but did hint that there were some behind-the-scenes issues that led to it.
“I’m not gonna touch too much on it, but as much as you guys saw the other creators that were in it, would have been the equal amount that you saw me in it, which is like 30 seconds,” Valkyrae said on a recent stream. “I would much rather not have that 30 seconds than be sued. So it’s all good, okay?”
Fans were quick to speculate on what Valkyrae meant by not wanting to be sued. Although there’s no confirmed reports, many believe the cameo removal came after the streamer made comments about star Jason Momoa last year. In September 2024, Valkyrae said that she witnessed Momoa mistreating some of the crew.
“I just saw him, like, mistreat some of the crew and it was pretty disappointing,” Valkyrae said last year. “He was just angry, like really mad and, like, yelling. So I was like, man, this is not a good work environment. Like, I would not be happy working under these conditions . . . so yeah, I would probably have to say that was probably the worst, like, celebrity thing I’ve seen.”
Despite being cut from the movie, Valkyrae said that the ten days she spent on location in New Zealand were still incredibly fun and that she enjoyed the movie as well.
“It really was a wonderful 10 days in New Zealand for that 30 seconds,” said Valkyrae. “I feel like things could have been so much worse, you know what I mean? That’s all I’m going to say about it.”
