The Mummy Cast Adds Moon Knight Star & More to Lee Cronin Horror Movie
The Mummy cast continues to grow, with Deadline reporting that Lee Cronin’s upcoming movie has added three to its cast.
Who has joined The Mummy cast?
According to Deadline’s new report, May Calamawy (Moon Knight), Veronica Falcón (Queen of the South), and Egyptian actress May Elghety have all joined onto the cast of the upcoming movie. They’ll join the previously announced Jack Reynor and Laia Costa, who joined the film last month.
Calamawy is best known for her role as Scarlet Scarab in the Disney+ Moon Knight series, and also starred in Hulu’s comedy series Ramy. She’ll next star in Duke Johnson’s The Actor. Along with Queen of the South, Falcón has also starred in a number of high-profile projects, including Ozark, Perry Mason, and more. Elghety has starred in a number of television shows in Egypt, and will next star in the upcoming movie Due Dating.
The Mummy is set for an April 27, 2026 release date, and plot details aren’t exactly known as of now.
Cronin previously The Hollywood Reporter that it would be unlike any movie featuring a Mummy that fans may have seen, and he’s looking to dig up something “very ancient and very frightening” with the movie. Another report from THR notes that the film will follow a “husband and father who runs afoul of supernaturally sinister forces.”
“This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before,” Cronin said. “I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening,”
It’s important to note that this movie is not a remake or reboot of The Mummy franchise, which is owned by Universal. Nor will it have anything to do with Universal’s horror franchise. Instead, this sounds like a completely original and unique story featuring a mummy.
