What happens in the I Don’t Understand You trailer?
The video introduces Kroll and Rannells as a gay couple going on an Italian vacation before they become fathers to a baby they’re adopting from Amanda Seyfried‘s pregnant character Candace. However, their dream vacation suddenly turns into a nightmare when they accidentally kill a hospitable Italian lady by mistakenly pushing her off the stairs.
I Don’t Understand You is written and directed by Crano and Craig, who are also serving as executive producers. The movie also stars Morgan Spector as Massimo, Nunzia Schiano as Zia Luciana, Eleanora Romandini as Francesca, Paolo Romano as Daniele, and more. It is produced by Joel Edgerton, Nash Edgerton, Kara Durrett, Jessamine Burgum, and Jonathan Glickman. Executive producers are Toby Nalbandian, Gregory Schmidt, Will Greenfield, Ben Shafer, Giovanni Pompili, and Lara Costa Calzado.
“Dom (Kroll) and Cole (Rannells), a couple on the verge of adopting a baby, embark on an Italian vacation — the perfect opportunity to reconnect before the new addition arrives. Everything is picture-perfect, the epitome of a European babymoon, when things begin to spiral out of control,” reads the official synopsis. “Lost on the way to dinner, their car gets stuck in a ditch, leaving them stranded in rural nowhere during a torrential downpour. These two Americans, who are used to being catered to, are now in a foreign land with no cell service, zero comprehension of the Italian language, and, as fear takes over, escalating turmoil that could explode at any moment.”
