Captain America: Brave New World Addresses ‘Biggest Unanswered Easter Egg in the MCU’ | Exclusive Bonus Clip

Captain America: Brave New World, also known as Captain America 4, was released in United States theaters in February 2025. The MCU movie is now coming to digital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home on April 15, 2025, while a 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release is planned for May 13, 2025.

What happens in the Captain America: Brave New World bonus clip?

The bonus clip, which is included in Captain America: Brave New World’s upcoming home release, sees Kevin Feige discuss how the movie gave them “the opportunity to bring back possibly the biggest unanswered Easter egg in the history of the MCU. And that goes back to The Incredible Hulk, which is when Samuel Sterns got into a lab accident. Fans of the comic knew that was our foreshadowing, our hinting, that he would become one of the biggest, most classic comic book villains of all time: The Leader.”

Co-producer Kyana F. Davidson adds, “The Leader was always someone that we wanted to bring back. The Leader was always such an interesting character from the comics. He’s irradiated, much like the Hulk is, much like Red Hulk is. But instead of becoming super strong, he’s super smart.”

Tim Blake Nelson plays Samuel Sterns in Captain America 4. The Marvel movie also stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Xosha Roquemore as Leila Taylor, Giancarlo Esposito as Seth Voelker/Sidewinder, and Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk.

“In Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World, Sam Wilson (Mackie) – who now wields the shield of Captain America after events in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier – meets with newly elected U.S. president Thaddeus Ross (Ford) and soon finds himself in the middle of an international incident,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “In a race against time, Sam must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”
