Hawkeye’s Hailee Steinfeld on if Kate Bishop Will Return After The Marvels
Actress Hailee Steinfeld, who portrays Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has weighed in on the prospects of her return to the franchise while rumors about her potential appearance in Avengers: Doomsday continue to circulate. Steinfeld debuted in the MCU in the 2021 Disney+ MCU series Hawkeye. She later reprised the role in a brief scene toward the end of the 2023 superhero feature The Marvels.
Hailee Steinfeld talks Kate Bishop’s future amid Avengers: Doomsday rumors
Steinfeld reflected on what the future held for Kate Bishop in the MCU during a recent interview with Backstage. She stated that she was “excited” to take what she had learned while working on her upcoming movie, Sinners, to her future projects, including entries in the MCU.
“I’m excited about the idea of continuing to grow with a character like Kate, especially in something as huge as the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” Steinfeld explained. “You get to go back to your family; you get to go back to that little home that then becomes part of this grander picture. I love that character, and I totally understand why she is so loved,” she added.
Notably, Steinfeld collaborated with the MCU director Ryan Coogler and fellow MCU actor Michael B. Jordan on Sinners, a Prohibition-era set vampire horror feature. It is set to come out in U.S. theaters on April 18, 2025.
In late March 2025, Marvel Studios unveiled the names of more than 25 cast members of Avengers: Doomsday. While Steinfeld wasn’t among those actors, it doesn’t mean she can’t appear in Doomsday. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently revealed that they did not disclose the names of all cast members, so Steinfeld might still appear in the movie. Moreover, the ending of The Mavels teases a Young Avengers project, indicating that Steinfeld is part of Marvel’s plans for the future, even if she doesn’t appear in Doomsday.
