The ‘Chicken Jockey’ trend has taken over fans since the release of A Minecraft Movie. As reported by ComingSoon before, the viral trend was started by fans mimicking Jack Black’s character, Steve’s line, ”Chicken Jockey.” It appears during the fight scene between Jason Momoa’s character, Garrett Garrison, and a baby zombie riding a chicken.
Apart from mimicking, moviegoers, especially the youth, are screaming, throwing popcorn, cheering, and clapping aggressively as the scene comes during the movie screenings. Additionally, another line that has received the same reaction is Black’s line, ”I… am Steve.” This has even led to police intervening to calm the chaos and forcing people out of theaters.
Now, Cineworld is hosting a 4DX screening to allow fans to cheer and mimic the lines. However, one of their branches in Witney, Oxfordshire, issued a warning to moviegoers recently. (via BBC)
The movie theater stated, “Any form of anti-social behaviour, especially anything that may disturb other guests, such as loud screaming, clapping, and shouting, will not be tolerated. Anyone who is found to be acting in this manner will be removed from the screening and not entitled to a refund.”
