Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who plays Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, aka Val, in the MCU, recently reacted to not having her name included in the Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement. Louis-Dreyfus made her debut as Valentina in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which was released in 2021, and has appeared in small roles in other MCU projects since then. Currently, she is busy promoting Thunderbolts* alongside her co-stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Olga Kurylenko.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus reacts to Avengers: Doomsday excluding Thunderbolts*’s Val
The cast of Thunderbolts* recently sat down for an interview with Fandango, during which the interviewer asked Julia Louis-Dreyfus about not being named in the Avengers: Doomsday cast.
The Fandango journalist mentioned that all the members of the main Thunderbolts* cast, except her and Olga Kurylenko, had their names on chairs in the Doomsday cast live stream. The actress appeared puzzled at first and asked, “Wait, what are you talking about?” The interviewer then repeated her question, asking why Louis-Dreyfus didn’t have a chair.
To this, Louis-Dreyfus replied, “Oh wow. I don’t know, but someone’s getting fired.” She further joked about making changes to her staff for not making it to the cast of Doomsday. The actress quipped, “I’m changing everybody who works for me now. They’re all out.”
Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Val is set to play an important role in Thunderbolts*. She was last seen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In the sequel, Val revealed that she was the head of the CIA, making her one of the most influential characters in the current MCU.
Apart from the Veep star, other prominent MCU actors who were not announced in the recently revealed cast list of Avengers: Doomsday include Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Wong, Ryan Reynolds, Brie Larson, Oscar Isaac, Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Evans, among others.
