Tom Hardy Wants a Venom & Spider-Man Crossover, Talks Return Possibility

Actor Tom Hardy recently talked about returning as Venom in a potential Spider-Man crossover in the future. Hardy last portrayed the role of Eddie Brock, aka Venom, in the movie Venom: The Last Dance. The Sony production was the last part of the Venom trilogy and was released on October 25, 2024.

Tom Hardy on returning as Venom in a Spider-Man crossover

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Tom Hardy revealed whether he will be up for playing Venom again. The Revenant actor was asked if he would only play Venom in a potential Spider-Man crossover in the future. Hardy denied that being the only condition to return as Venom and displayed his willingness to make a comeback for a solo project as well.

“No, no, I love Venom and I had a great time doing that, so no, no,” he said. This isn’t the first time Hardy has talked about a crossover between his Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. While speaking on The Discourse Podcast from The Playlist, he revealed that a crossover was “close” but didn’t happen, seemingly due to studio politics. “We got as close as I could possibly imagine getting, apart from doing a film together, which I would have loved to have done because that just means so much fun,” Hardy stated.

Furthermore, the actor mentioned that the main reason why he wanted Venom and Spider-Man to appear in one movie was the younger demographic. “Fundamentally, for me, it would be for the kids,” he shared. “Because, you know, as much as adults love superhero films, as you can tell by the box office when they’re successful, I think I’m constantly reminded by children how important these characters are. And they don’t know why their favorite characters aren’t in films together.”
