
Lilo & Stitch 4K & Blu-ray Release Date Set for 2002 Animated Movie
Disney has announced the Lilo & Stitch 4K and Blu-ray release date for 2002’s Oscar-nominated sci-fi animated comedy, featuring the voices of Daveigh Chase and Chris Sanders as the titular duo. This comes ahead of its live-action remake’s theatrical release on May 23, 2025.
“With stunning watercolor backgrounds setting the tropical tone, this heartwarming and humor-filled adventure follows a lovable – but mischievous – out-of-this-world creature and his adoptive Hawaiian family,” reads the synopsis. “Originally released in 2002 by Walt Disney Animation Studios, this ‘cute and fluffy’ classic has won more devoted fans than Lilo has delivered peanut butter sandwiches to Pudge!”

Lilo & Stitch will be available to purchase on 4K Ultra UHD and Blu-ray starting on May 6, 2025. More than two decades since its theatrical debut, the movie has maintained a Certified Fresh rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 149 reviews. It was also a commercial success, with a worldwide gross of over $270 million at the box office. The film also received an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature.

Written and directed by Sanders and Dean DeBlois, the 2002 movie served as Disney’s 42nd animated feature. Sanders will once again be lending his voice to Stitch in the upcoming live-action remake, while Carrere and Lee will be portraying new characters.
